Anybody get seasonal depression? Sure summers are a bitch here in N.C. The humidity can make even milder temperatures feel miserable. But cmon- winter just sucks. Yeah maybe there’s one fun day where you build a snowman, but the rest of the time it’s a cold gray slog until fake spring in January, then it’s back to winter part two, interrupted briefly by False Spring, then Fool’s Spring, then Hopeful Spring, until Winter’s Revenge in April or even May before the season really changes and we can get back to enjoying our lives. Fuck winter! I’m serious. Yes I am aware of the irony that global warming will slowly roast us all and those of us who survive will look back with fond memories of bread and milk shortages every time the mythical snowflakes started to fall.
lyrics
Is there anyone here who can tell me where the day goes? Does it turn into tomorrow, or does it just stay yesterday? Now night has come and it’s raining again. How I long to feel the sun. When it’s dark and it’s gray I can take a few days, but I’m not quite ready to freeze for three months. I can still take delight as the leaves turn to fire, and the AC goes back into hibernation. But they’re telling me hey, you know what’s ahead. Yeah yeah yeah it’s gonna be sad. But you already knew that. Who wants to awake before even the slightest hint of daybreak? Hope you’re on your way home, cuz it’ll be dark before six. All week long is such a major ascent. There’s no time to be someone. When winter finally comes.

No words to describe this. I believe if you like Spirit of the Beehive, you will like this band. Other highlights are Plants, And Again and Pretty Sure. So much good music out there. JerPz

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
