about

Now this song on the other hand, I dunno if it even deserves to be a bonus track. A good rule of thumb for artists is to not publicly slag their own material too harshly. Who knows? It could be your favorite song! It’s very rude to tell someone who enjoyed your music what a fucking idiot you are for liking it. As a listener and fan, it annoys me when John Lennon claims “Cry baby cry” is a worthless piece of shit and I love that song. It’s ok if you don’t like it but you gotta make me feel stupid? This piece of shit song here— After my last Elton John rip-off ended up sounding like the Cure, I tried again, even meticulously trying to steal some chords and structure from “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and this is what you get? You made it all the way to the end of this amateur album (Thank you for your service!) and your final reward is “Casa Azul?” WTF. If you hate it as much as I do go back and listen to “When Winter Finally Does Come” again. That’s how this whole thing should wrap up. But if you like this song, well there’s something wrong with you.

lyrics

Not exactly sure what I think that I’m building. The plans went out of the window long ago. I even measured this time, but it still don’t look right. Don’t know what I’m still doing it for. The tower hasn’t gotten any higher. It’s still really just a big pile of bricks. And you’re right the floor would probably cave in, but I haven’t even got to that yet. But if you’ll indulge me for the rest of your life I guarantee you someday all this will end. It’s not the world’s strongest foundation. Maybe I shouldn’t have used the world’s cheapest cement. At this rate I can’t promise you dear, there will ever be a roof overhead. But don’t you give me a hard time about nothing, cuz that’s all I got to add to the mix. Every day something new becomes broken, and I still got last year to fix. What’s a couple more miles since we’ll probably never get there? At least I got some of what you need on my back. I know it’s not the best entertainment, and you’ve earned more than I’ll ever be. But you’ll take a hundred pictures of nothing, so why can’t you see what I see? It’s not invisible. If only it wasn’t so tainted. The shamble is part of the charm, but you’re not into that. Sorry you got roped in by the dream, while the reality is anything but. Although there may not be a counter to cut on, there’s no doors that need to be shut. I wish that it wasn’t so boring. You deserve to be more than content. If there’s anything left of your patience, I’m prepared to wallow in it again. It’s a sight unseemly it’s folded in half. It barely makes a dent on the readout. And you can hate it just as much as you like (like this song) but it’s more than just another hole in the ground.
