The Pope and his wife, they're so set in their ways. And so are the stars in the night. They heard it from God so they made up their minds. But something don't jive with their take. Oh I don't think I can relate. Not according to my calculations. The object's in flight, as it rolls round the sun. Just like the path of the moon. Oh yes it does. It's just circles and rocks when you get down to it. And we are just more of the same. You can do what you like, ain't nobody get it right. Might as well try to explain. But hey now- Don't let me stand in your way. Do you want me to lie and claim it's in place? Just lying there perfectly still? And yet it moves. Oh yes it does. You can say I was wrong, you can make me play dumb, but you can't make me say my own prayers. Skip the torture, avoid the fines. I'll just stay in my house, and pretend that it isn't my gig. A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
