about

I was trying to do some primal scream stuff on here, like Lennon does on Plastic Ono band. The trick is you gotta try and do all the other vocals first and save the screams for last, cuz it ruins your throat. So I’m inside just howling my lungs out. Took awhile to get it right. The tiny pinhole sized mic on the iPad I’m yelling into overloads so easily. Makes it hard to do rockers like the last song. You can’t get close to it and screech. If you stand too far away it just sounds like you’re on the moon. Next album I’ll use a real microphone. Anyway, I’m letting out these horrible shrieks intermittently for half an hour or so. I finish up. I’m hoarse. I hear a noise outside. I go see what it is and my landlord has been right outside painting the house the whole time! I asked him why he didn’t call 911 and he said it sounded like I was having fun. That was not my intended effect but I was. Try it sometime.

lyrics

I’ll never be the same again. I wouldn’t want to anyway. I was living in a trance. Didn’t think I stood a chance. But then I saw you running you were coming to the ball. Then you blew me away with a legal shoulder charge and all the dungeons went away. And I was free to breathe again. Now it’s 20 years later and I think you’re done. I’m going right back where I started from, but I thank you for the days when you made me feel I wanted to live. Won’t you let me try, see if I can make it right. Let me hold you like we mean it for a night. You got to know how much that I love you. You got to see it’s all I want to do. That’s a fine set of shutters you are putting on the house. Ain’t nobody looking in ain’t nobody looking out. Won’t you come back baby? Cuz I love you! There ain’t nothing I can do to keep you off my mind. You saved me once, shouldn’t have to save me twice. But I thank you for trying and sticking with me for as long as you did. Ain’t no wonder that you’re looking for a change. Now that the Death Star has come rolling into range. A million souls all crying out as one. Can you hear my voice stand out amidst the drone?
